Practicing Safe Sex
Safe sex is about saving your life, or the life of your partner. Because
of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), everyone should know about
safer sex. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the precursor to the AIDS
virus and can infect anyone, regardless of sex, sexual preference, age,
race, or economic class. Certainly, the occurence of AIDS is higher in
some groups but it is by no means limited to "high risk" activity.
Practice Safer Sex by:
--Abstaining from sex with other people.
--Courting a monogamous relationship.
--Using condoms.
Also, realize that not all sexually transmitted diseases are physically
obvious. It is impossible to tell simply by looking at someone whether
they are infected withany sexually transmitted disease(s). The closest one
can come to a guarantee is a recent test officially disclosing a negative
response to medical searches for said diseases.
Keep in mind that your logical thinking processes are impaired when
consuming alchohol and whether you are drinking or not you should always
be carrying protection or maintaining a protective lifestyle. Don't forget
the risks from sharing needles as well.
If you have been practicing unsafe sex it's never too late to start. At
the very least start by using condoms, prove that you care about yourself
and the world around you.
